The town business mogul. Owner of The Great Northern Hotel, Horne’s Dept. Store and secret owner of One-Eyed Jacks, a casino/brothel across the Canadian border. He has a development project called Ghostwoods Estates and Country Club. He initially deal with a group of Norwegian investors but that falls through, which leads him to take in a group of investors from Iceland brought in by his brother, Jerry Horne. Through a bunch of shady tactics and double-crosses involving Catherine Martell and Josie Packard, Ben Horne seems to have everything line up, but that ends and failure. After a brief delusional episode where he thinks he is Gen. Robert E. Lee, Ben Horne becomes an environmentalist and tries to stop Catherine who is now in control of the Ghostwoods Project.
